TJSL’s U09 to U16 program is for 7-year through 15-year old children (age based on calendar year), with separate Girls & Boys divisions. The program is designed to teach technical and tactical soccer skills while providing players a chance to play competitive games against similar age children.
Fall Outdoor Schedule
Games
U09 teams play 7v7 games (7v7) based on US Soccer Guidelines
U11 teams normally play 9v9 games based on US Soccer Guidelines
U13 and U16 teams play either full-sided games (11v11) or small-sided
(9v9, 7v7 or 5v5) depending on the number of registered players
Normally eight games per season plus playoffs
U9, U11 & U13 games on Sunday afternoons
U16 games may be on Sunday nights or on a weeknight
Schedules distributed approximately one month prior to each season
Professional Training
Sessions with professional trainers during the season
All sessions M-Th after 6p, starting with the youngest divisions

Coaches Practice
One practice each week on non-training weeks
All sessions M-Th after 6p, starting with the youngest division

Equipment / Uniform
Registration fee includes uniform jersey, shorts and socks
Each player should bring a ball to every outdoor training session and practice – write the player’s name on the ball
U09 = Size 4 ball
U11 = Size 4 ball
U13 = Size 5 ball
U16 = Size 5 ball
Players must wear shin guards
Soccer cleats are optional – baseball, football or softball cleats are not allowed
No earrings or jewelry allowed
Winter Indoor Schedule
Games
Normally eight games per season
U8 teams play small-sided games (6 v 6) depending on the age of the players number of registered players
All sessions on Sunday afternoons from December to March in school gyms
Schedules distributed approximately one month prior to each season

Players must wear shin guards and either indoor soccer shoes or sneakers
