Each year, Teaneck Junior Soccer League awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors that have served as a volunteer (coach, field maintenance, etc). In order for a candidate to be eligible they must:
Be a graduating high school senior
Be a current resident of Teaneck NJ
Have served the league as a volunteer in excess of 20 hours (service time does not include playing time or paid positions such as a referee)
Two indoor soccer or two TOPSoccer seasons normally equal one year of service as long as the combined seasons equal more than 20 hours of service
Have been accepted into and will attend college (the recipient can defer the start of college for up to one year)
The level of award is determined by the length of service:
1 year of service: 25% of a full scholarship
2 years of service: 50% of a full scholarship
3 years of service: 75% of a full scholarship
4 years of service: Full scholarship amount
